I am a part of a new chamber ensemble called Synergy, and we'll be performing our first concert at the Lyceum in Old Town Alexandria. It's a part of the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association's summer chamber music series. Other members of our group are Laura Marchisotto Bogart, piano; Sue Logan, oboe; and Larry Ink, flute. We'll be performing pieces (for all combinations of the four instruments) written by Astor Piazzolla (tango for clarinet and piano... how often do you get to hear THAT? :), Gordon Jacob, William Grant Still, and a flute/clarinet duet written by Larry Ink, among others. It promises to be a fun hour of music in a beautiful space. There will be a reception following the performance. More information can be found on the WMPA website. Directions to the Lyceum can be found here.
Again, the concert is this Sunday July 21 3:00-4:00 pm. I hope to see you there!! |
